Life in MPM: testimonials from the students

Life in MPM so far has been action packed. From day one we've had a number of social and professional events that have made the course so much more than just study! When we first arrived we had the Public Colloquium, a week of getting to know the activities, uni info and help with getting settled in Milan. Since then we have had a lot of inspirational guest speakers and even a field trip to the United Nations campus in Turin. I found the career days useful to give me ideas about what I want to do for the internship and after graduation.

The course is so relevant, covers content from law to economics and human rights, and the professors are the leaders in the field. I really feel like I'm going to be equipped for work in the Public Sector.

Also, it's a pretty special atmosphere in MPM because we are from all over the world and all in the same situation. We also share a common interest in development and helping people so we have really clicked as a group and become our own support network. The staff really helped with this too and are very approachable and available.

A major factor for choosing the MPM program at SDA Bocconi was the mandatory internship period at the end of study. I wanted to use coursework to further understand my field of interest once I graduated.
The internship presentation by MPM program staff was helpful in a number of ways. The staff laid out the internship process as well as how they were going to assist student placement in an internship of particular interest. Also, three former MPM students were on hand to share their experience, which was invaluable.
One student was involved with a public agency doing development work in India. Another was working at a non-profit foundation focused on governance and policy management. A third former student was on hand to share his experience interning at a consulting company. All three former students also discussed the process they took to find a proper internship and how they came to their final decision.
This presentation got all the students talking, and piqued our excitement for our internships ahead.
