Michele Peduzzi, MCF 5

Tapping the Top…

The Roof of the World Rally

Michele Peduzzi, MCF5 MCF alumni are not only devoted to corporate finance.
Their effort and dedication could indeed be of a more philanthropic use! In fact last summer, instead of the usual relaxed holiday under the sun, Michele Peduzzi (MCF 5) decided to do something a bit more socially useful and thus participated with two friends to The Roof of the World Rally (ROTW).

Together they raised more than £3,000 for a UK charity based in Tajikistan and contacted over 20 local and national businesses securing cash and in-kind donations from over 15 sponsors.
But what’s exactly is all this about? The Roof of the World Rally is a charity challenge that took Michele and his two friends, the writer Pierdomenico Baccalario and the photographer Walter Menegazzi, all the way through the Silk Road to Tajikistan (Central Asia) by car. They drove a ’93 Citroën all the way from Austria, through Russia and the coasts of the Caspian Sea, the Kazakh desert and the mythological cities of Uzbekistan to finally reach destination on the roof of the world in Tajikistan. The roads on the high Pamir mountains reach 4,700 metres in height and really tested their 15-year old Citroën!

The Roof of the World Map
The Roof of the World is a charity event and its objective is to raise money for people who have less - much less - than all of us. Every penny that they raised and the car itself have been donated to Sworde Teppa, a UK registered charity that helps people to help themselves and their community in Tajikistan, formerly war-torn and the poorest country in Central Asia.
