The Faculty of the Strategic and Entrepreneurial Department focuses on the continuous development of knowledge, models and tools allowing managers and entrepreneurs to analyse competitive scenarios and their dynamics, define growth objectives, draw up and implement successful strategies, design governance models promoting corporate development, etc..

Research activities comprise:

- basic research aiming to develop knowledge and innovative management tools that are published in leading national and international management journals;

- applied research aiming to produce teaching materials (lectures, case histories, simulations, etc.) for improving the effectiveness of the training process in the classroom and in distance learning;

- tailored research aiming to provide a tangible and effective response to the specific requirements of corporate and institutional customers.

The natural interlocutors of the Department are entrepreneurs and managers who wish to understand what tools and models can give a concrete answers to their questions, as well as representatives of trade associations (industrial or local) who wish to give their members an updated and precise interpretation of the competitive context within which they operate.

The main tailored research projects conducted by the Department in recent years involved the following issues:

• The competitiveness of enterprises operating in an industry;
• The competitiveness of enterprises operating in a district;
• The attractiveness of a city or a limited area;
• Governing the family and enterprise relationship;
• Competitive intelligence and the profile of competitors;
• Formulating a business plan;
• The ownership and governance structure of enterprises.
