The Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management Department of SDA Bocconi School of Management develops research projects and training courses concerning Small and medium enterprise management, Strategic management, Family business and Corporate governance.
Our mission is to develop and communicate useful management tools and models for people holding management and governance responsibilities within enterprises. To achieve this objective, the Faculty of the Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management Department develops knowledge and tools allowing managers, directors and entrepreneurs to:
• analyse the competitive scenario;
• analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the enterprise compared with its competitors;
• define the current and prospective competitive positioning of the enterprise;
• implement and optimise the strategic plan;
• develop a business plan;
• define methods for entering a new country;
• manage a multi-business enterprise;
• design governance mechanisms for promoting corporate development.
The Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management Department promotes various training initiatives, comprising market training programmes, master courses and a wide variety of courses designed to satisfy the specific needs of corporate customers. Together with training activities, the Department also performs research activities, comprising basic research, setting out to generate knowledge and develop innovative management tools, and commissioned research setting out to satisfy the specific needs of corporate customers.
The Faculty of the Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management Department comprises both nationally and internationally famous academics, as well as professionals and managers boasting extensive management skills. The teachers of the Department stand out for their passion for research, their understanding of business phenomena and for their capacity of effectively communicating the knowledge and management models they have developed.
