We are currently developing three main areas of research in the field of EU managerial reforms and tools:

• EU Governance and the growth of the EU agencies
  - The characteristics of EU agencies, the main differences between member-states’ public agencies.
  - EU agencies and European public policy.
  - Institutional- and system-level managerial implications of the growth of EU agencies.
  
  A high level seminar has been held on March 12, 2010 at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels to present the preliminary findings of the survey. More than fifteen agencies and institutions were  represented at the event. A book on the topic is in preparation.

• The evolution of EU Multi-Level Governance.
• Whither reforms? The research investigates the paradigms of current managerial reforms and where reforms are leading the European Commission and other EU institutions.
• Coordination and integration: alternative or complementary concepts for understanding the European Union?
