The MCF program tackles the financial crisis

01 October 2008

The ninth edition gets underway with Perissinotto (Generali), Magnoni (Lehman Brothers) and Girelli (Banca Generali)

"The ninth edition of the Master in Corporate Finance (MCF) has launched at the most difficult moment of the last few decades for the world of finance", said Maurizio Dallocchio, co-director of the program, during this morning's inaugural seminar, "but those participating in it are fortunate in that they will be training during the course of 12 months that will in any case mark a revolution".
"At the end of this period", clarified DollyPredovic, the other co-director of the program, "the job market will be more open to finance in the service of corporate strategies compared with finance in itself".
Students from the latest intake initiated their SDA Bocconi experience with a seminar typical of a new didactic approach intended to put less emphasis on straightforward lectures and more on opportunities for exchange with financial operators. The discussion of defaulting, rescues and market prospects was in fact led by Giorgio Girelli, CEO of Banca Generali, Ruggero Magnoni, chairman of Lehman Brothers Italia, who gave an insider's view of the events that led to the fall of the bank, and Giovanni Perissinotto, CEO of Generali.
