The SDA climbs another rung in the "ranking of rankings" ladder

The annual ranking of European business school performance published this Monday in the Financial Times once more brings glad tidings for the SDA Bocconi, which climbs 11 rungs to the 19th place on the ladder. Now in its fourth year, the annual rating system - which groups together the performances of the Master's, Executive Master's, in management, standard courses, and specialist courses - has been dubbed the "ranking of all rankings". No less than 84 specific parameters applied, but given that not all the schools entered offer all five categories of training programmes, a statistical assessment is also required. The parameters are indexed on the basis of the school's position, and on the distance between the best results and the worst; subsequently, the impact of these is appraised according to the number of ranking categories in which the school qualifies.
The final total can therefore be quite different from the average position a school occupies in each separate ranking.
The SDA Bocconi owes its position to the evaluations made in the three categories of MBAs, standard courses, and specialist courses. A closer look shows it fifteenth in the MBA, sixth in the standard courses, and eighth in the third category.
