The 8th annual MBA Ski Cup took place this past weekend (27th-29th January) and was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who took part. 164 students and alumni took part in the weekend, coming from 43 different countries and 9 different Business Schools. As ever the Ski Cup itself was fiercely competitive, but SDA Bocconi was able to retain the trophy following last year’s win in St. Moritz. The overall individual winners were SDA Bocconi EMBA alumnus, Marco Piacentini, and current SDA Bocconi MBA student, Stephanie James, with times of 32.13 and 33.89 seconds respectively. Caio Zapata from IE Business School won the men’s race for current MBA students and Shoku Suzuki from INSEAD took home the women’s alumni title.
The event also involved a couple of memorable dinners: one at the top of neighbouring Santa Caterina, in the spectacular setting of the Sunny Valley Resort; followed by Saturday night’s Gala Dinner at the wonderful Palace Hotel in Bormio. Before the Gala Dinner, students and alumni were treated to an excellent conference on the Euro crisis, with Manuela D’Onofrio, UniCredit Private Banking’s Chief Investment Officer, explaining how she has taken her investment positions as the crisis has evolved and how she sees it coming to an end.
